Detective Constable - PVP
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Protecting Vulnerable People (PVP) department at South Worcester LPA .
Expressions of interest are sought from PC and DC's, who have completed their probationary period, for the role of Detective Constable (PVP) based at South Worcestershire LPA.
PVP is responsible for the investigation of offences involving, but not limited to:
• Intra-familial Child Protection including Physical and Sexual abuse
• Sudden and Unexpected Childhood Death
• Child Sexual Exploitation
• Child Criminal Exploitation
• High Risk Domestic Abuse
In addition to working together to investigate offences to the highest standard, PVP works closely with statutory and voluntary partners to provide support and safeguarding to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
We will consider existing and proposed flexible and agile working applications where appropriate, and in keeping with the business needs of both departments.
The nature of PVP work is challenging but hugely rewarding. The departments will be at the forefront of delivering West Mercia Police vision and values of protecting people from harm.
Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, commitment and self-motivation. They will need to have an investigative mind-set and possess good written and oral communication skills. Successful candidates will register for the National Investigators Exam (NIE) and, on achieving a PASS, will progress to the Detective Development Programme (DDP) and towards attaining National accreditation.

• Effective communication skills with an ability to adapt their style to their audience.
• Have high levels of resilience and a flexible approach.
Applicants are required to complete a 500 word expression of interest detailing why they are suitable for the post. Interviews will then take place upon receipt of suitable expressions of interest.
