We are seeking a keen and enthusiastic Senior Software Developer to join our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP/SAP) Development Team. The Team supports a wide range of back-office areas including Finance, HR & Payroll, Duty Management and Recruitment. The development work can fall across any of these areas providing an insight to many parts of the organisation.

 

You will primarily develop Open Data Protocol (ODATA) webservices and Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) functions, to support new and existing SAP Fiori applications. There will be opportunities to explore new technologies and expand your current skill set through informal mentoring and ‘on-the-job’ learning. You will be expected to work on your own and as part of the team to deliver improvements and efficiencies to the business through our ERP system.  

 

In your application, please evidence your experience (how long for, in what role, for what company) and/or qualifications in the following areas:

  • A clear understanding of Structured query language (SQL)
  • Evidence of commercial programming experience (languages, apps used/ workflows have you built, what programming methodology used)
  • Experience and knowledge of HTML, JAVASCRIPT and CSS
  • Evidence of experience of working within a team

 

Please tell us if you have any understanding or knowledge of the following. These are not essential yet, highly desirable and lack of experience, should not prevent you applying:

  • Knowledge of Police systems and processes
  • SAP Fiori/UI5 experience
  • Examples where you have had to manage own workload.
  • Experience using the full Microsoft office suite would be a distinct advantage.

In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend the contractual workplace, as agreed with the line manager.

Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £45,591.00.

Kent Police and Essex Police have separate salary grading systems therefore the salary for this position will be dependent on which home office force you are appointed to. This will be discussed with the successful applicant before a final offer is made.
