Job Title: Leadership Academy Trainer/Facilitator
Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: University Of London, Malet Street with duties in Hendon, Marlowe House - Sidcup and New Scotland Yard.
In line with A New Met for London to develop a strong cohort of leaders, the Commissioner has made a commitment to help set our leaders up to succeed by working towards a five day leadership development programme for all leaders every year.
This will be delivered through the New Leadership Academy providing a contemporary learning offer to our leaders. To achieve this we need a strong team of expert facilitators to build our leadership capabilities in the Met in order to deliver more trust, less crime and high standards.
Working in the Met’s Leadership Academy team within Learning and Development, the role holder will be responsible for working as part of the team delivering high quality training and facilitating, of the Met’s leadership development programme. This includes taking a lead role in delivery of our leadership programmes at all levels – from first line leaders to senior/ strategic leaders, design of our leadership programmes and growing our internal facilitation capability.
Also working in the Met’s Leadership Academy team within Learning and Development, there are also opportunities for some role holders to be responsible for working as part of the team delivering high quality design and iteration of the Met’s leadership development programme. This includes developing material to be delivered within the leadership programmes at all levels – from first line leaders to senior/ strategic leaders, design of our leadership programmes and growing our internal facilitation capability.
The plan is to deliver this training from several locations across the MPS the majority of courses at the University of London Malet Street but also at Hendon, Marlowe House, and Central London venues. Applicants must be prepared to work at other locations within the MPS.
Successful applicants will be supported in developing their knowledge, skill and experience required for delivery these programmes through, a full train the trainers programme, observation sessions of current courses and content prior to being expected to deliver. Also the opportunity to develop recognised professional Instructional / facilitation qualifications.
Location and working hours
Our courses are delivered face to face in a classroom environment Monday to Friday. This will be predominantly 0800am to 1600pm, however flexibility will be required to cover occasional early and late shifts. The plan is to deliver this training from several locations across the MPS including University of London Malet Street, Hendon, Marlow House, and Central London venues. Applicants must be prepared to work at other locations within the MPS.
This role is classed as Operational in line with the Met Hybrid Working policy.
L&D supports flexible working, and this is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
