ERSOU CTP - East Region Border Policing Control Desk & Researcher - Police Staff Role
The opportunity has arisen for the role of a Counter Terrorism Borders Policing Control desk and research officer within ERSOU-CTP based at Luton airport.The control desk is a regional capability delivered at two points (Luton and Stansted airports) being responsible for the receipt and recording of all actions coming into the region's ports. Calls may be received from national partners, both internal and external to CT Policing, along with local partners, for example Border Force, airport security, airline and handling agents and local policing. Control desk and research officers will prioritise the action to be taken, make a record of it and engage with the duty Police supervisor. Additionally, some research will be undertaken of police and CT databases to support Police officer activity. Further tasks may arise over standards of recording following completion of tasks and actions.
This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated people looking to work within the Counter Terrorism environment. You will be recognising the priority of those calls received and working with police officers to support the gathering of high quality intelligence from CT subjects of interest. Successful candidates will be an integral part of developing and maintaining a first-class relationship with all partners who engage with CT Border Policing, recognising the value of calls received and the scope for CT intervention in pursuit of CT intelligence objectives. At the same time, opportunities around safeguarding and crime will be exploited within CT borders policing or diverted to appropriate partners after officer intervention.
