Deputy Head of Legal Services

Hertfordshire Constabulary is a forward-thinking police force with a Prevention First ethos placing victims of crime first and foremost in our service delivery. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Solicitor to join our team in the Legal Services Department. The successful candidate will have a good track record of Civil Litigation, with a minimum of 5 years PQE. Supervision of staff is included as an important part of your role.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be an enthusiastic lawyer, responsible for providing expert legal advice in a variety of matters and representation to the police force. This will include Civil Litigation, defending Civil Claims against the Chief Constable, Employment Tribunal Claims, Firearms Appeals, Inquests and applications for Civil Protection Orders.

By using your management experience, communication skills, planning and organisational skills, technology, and resources, you will ensure that you and your team are delivering the best level of service to the police force and public. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of integrity and to be a role model for all those who work with you.
