Detective Constable - Online CSAE and Crime Operations (SEROCU)

Online CSAE and Crime Operations work closely with SEROCU Covert Operations (COU) to deploy under cover (UC) operatives against online paedophile and criminal activity. 

You will work with COU to infiltrate this activity, develop intelligence around individuals and groups to identify them and their risk. You will then own the overt prosecution of identified individuals in both the CSAE and Crime arena through to successful prosecution. 

This role involves partnership working internally, nationally and internationally with amongst others CPS, OCAITs and other agencies to develop and disseminate intelligence and prosecute evidential packages. 

We are looking for people with a solid investigative background, ideally with some knowledge of CSAE investigations, safeguarding and pro-active covert techniques or somebody willing and able to learn these skills as part of a dedicated team in a unique and very rewarding area of work.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence. 

This role is based in Reading but remote and agile working are supported on a case by case basis depending on operational requirements. 

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level SC.  In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
