We are welcoming applications for the role of Case Supervisor Criminal Justice Unit with Devon & Cornwall Police based at the following location(s): Other Exeter

Salary: Grade 7 - Starts at £36,630 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £40,893 per annum 
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon and Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.

Type of working arrangement: Static-Worker - A Static-Worker has little or no opportunity to work remotely as they need to carry out their work at a specific force premises, this could be for a number of reasons including the location of equipment. 
Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week

About the role:  

To manage the delivery of key processes within the criminal justice system ensuring prosecution files are maintained, developed, quality assured and tracked to ensure the file and its contents appear at court on time and trial ready.  In particular, to:

•    Supervise criminal justice unit team ensuring prosecution files are progressed through the criminal justice system allowing agencies such as the CPS and the courts sufficient time to deal with their responsibilities. 
•    Provide line management to team members, prioritising and managing workloads, and dealing with the full range of people management responsibilities such as development, staff welfare, performance management, discipline, attendance management, duty developments and abstractions.
•    Monitor the quality of case files to identify deficiencies and resolve any issues in consultation with officers, staff, partner agencies as appropriate. 
•    Conduct file reviews at point of receipt and prior to provision to CPS, checking for deficiencies, which may cause a trial to fail at court.
•    Conduct research using PNLDB and the Internet to maintain and update knowledge of the criminal justice system.
•    Provide advice and guidance to officers and staff.

Selection Stage: 

The selection for this role will consist of Shortlisting, Interview.

If successful, you will then be invited to an interview. This will be based on the behaviours outlined within the role profile. The interview process is due to take place week commencing 20 January 2025.

Pre-requisites:
