Demand Manager
We are welcoming applications for the role of Demand Manager with Devon & Cornwall Police based at the following location(s): Police Headquarters, Exeter
Salary: Grade 7 - Starts at £36,630 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £40,893 per annum
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon and Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.
Type of employment: Permanent
Working directly to the Head of Department and SMT. To lead, manage, co-ordinate, and oversee departmental demand. Prioritising and managing activity to achieve efficient, effective and professional products to ensure the delivery of improved services.
To be the single point of contact to oversee incoming demand. Identifying, refining, challenging and negotiating with business and executive leads requests for service. Environmentally scan and review the request against current, previous and future proposed activity. Advise and discuss with SMT and professional leads to agree, prioritise and approve activity. Allocate and manage departmental demand and monitor progress, prioritising work and deadlines. Develop and implement systems and processes to manage departmental projects across a range of work teams.
In particular, to:
- Liaise and negotiate with stakeholders and requesters for service both internal and external to the organisation
- Undertake sponsors interviews as appropriate and determine Terms of Reference including the standard required and most appropriate resource to maximise efficiency
- Publish and communicate completed products from the department through appropriate channels, promoting work activity and best practice, sharing knowledge across the wider organisation.
- Identify areas of high demand including anticipating future organisational demand, advising and communicating with SMT accordingly including proactively highlighting workload/work completion issues.
- Undertake evaluation activity which can include (but not limited to): assessing the business benefits and organisational impact of new learning
- Provide training, induction and development to new and current staff to complement the departmental training plan.

Selection Stage:
The selection for this role will consist of Shortlisting, Interview.
Applications will be anonymised and then shortlisted by the shortlisting panel. Following the shortlisting you will be notified of the recruitment decision via email along with feedback on your application.
If successful, you will then be invited to an interview. This will be based on the behaviours outlined within the role profile. The interview process is due to take place week commencing 20 January 2025.

Pre-requisites:
