You will assist in providing an effective and efficient video editing service to Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services’ Imaging Unit, based at Calder Park, Wakefield.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Imaging Unit, in a growing area of the Police RSSS, dealing with over 2000 Video Editing projects per year for the Yorkshire and Humber regions.
You would be part of a small friendly team of Editors with your own Editing workstation, working Monday to Friday (no weekend or B/H working) on Flexitime hours, allowing you to work 37hrs per week flexibly anytime between 7AM and 7PM. There is free onsite parking, a good pension scheme and excellent job satisfaction in this role.
In order to be considered for this role, you must have previous experience of producing video edits in a professional/academic video editing environment and a detailed knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, including the ability to switch between a variety of video editing software packages.
Furthermore, you must have the ability to listen to and view video footage which can be graphic and disturbing, as well as the ability to assess written transcripts and edit logs. The source of this footage will be from Police Body Worn Video cameras, Police in car cameras and Video Recorded witness interviews.
Due to the nature of the role, you must provide Biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) for inclusion on the respective Police Elimination databases for routine speculative searching purposes and be prepared to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the Video Editing team.
