Head of Change
After a recent merger of two teams, Hertfordshire Constabulary is looking to recruit a new Head of Change. This is an exciting role for someone who will develop and guide a newly formed team and lead the Constabulary through significant change, which will ultimately lead to a better service to the public of Hertfordshire.In this role you will manage and lead a team to deliver strategic and transformational change across the organisation, under three core strands – business change, continuous improvement and digital innovation. As a Senior Police Staff Leader, you will play a key role in negotiating and influencing the direction of travel for the force.
Key responsibilities include:
To manage and provide direction to the Change Delivery team, whilst making effective use of the team resources, ensuring the Force utilises change management to drive improvements in processes, structures, performance, outputs and value for money in our duty to the public.
To ensure business benefits (financial and non-financial) are identified and monitored throughout the change programme ensuring they contribute to improved efficiency, effectiveness and legitimacy.
To oversee the full programme and project lifecycle of current and new projects, ensuring they remain on track and where deliverables are not met expectations are managed effectively
To ensure that all projects and programmes realise agreed benefits, outputs and outcomes
Develop the team to enable them to provide a high quality service to the organisation and delivery quality products that meet requirements outlined Ensure that all change and projects adopted continue to add value to the organisation therefore using the team’s capacity and capability to drive forward meaningful work
Scope current and future change and transformation requirements through stakeholder engagement, within the organisation, with partners and collaborations
Leading on Problem Solving and representing the Constabulary at Regional Problem-Solving meetings and events.
Ideally, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have nationally recognised qualifications in agile project management, managing successful programmes and change management. At least 5 years’ experience of project/programme/change management with a proven track record of undefined successful change initiatives, with realised and measurable benefits. You will be a strong leader with the ability to motivate and inspire others during times of change. Excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role together with good knowledge of MS Office software to a high standard.
What your day might look like:
Building strategic relationships to manage transformational change demand
Undefined the Programme/Project managers to ensure delivery of key priorities
Co-ordinating and deconflicting competing demands, needs and requirements across all aspects of policing (operational and organisational).
Presentation to strategic meetings
Partnership working internally and externally to dynamically problem-solve.
Supporting departmental governance including budget management.
The role may requires travel to different locations across the County (and wider) on occasion therefore a full UK driving licence is considered essential.
