Police Staff Investigator

As Police Staff Investigator you will be responsible for gathering and reviewing evidence and undertaking crime investigation duties, ensuring that any evidence obtained is recorded, secured, preserved, and reviewed in a timely and appropriate manner to safeguard the vulnerable and to bring offenders to justice, thereby supporting Force policing mission, and organisational priorities.

You will need excellent communication skills (including the ability to communicate difficult messages with tact, sensitivity, and authority), problem-solving and decision-making skills.

The role concerns the investigation and review of material relating to various serious and acquisitive crime. Previous experience of working within crime investigation, together with an understanding of the various processes of criminal investigation, including court procedures and an understanding of the potential and limitations of Forensic Science support is desirable, but training is available.
