Job Title: Intelligence Assessor - Intelligence - Counter Terrorism Policing HQ
Salary: The starting salary is £37,959, which includes allowances totalling £6,653.
The salary is broken down as £31,306 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £35,598. Plus, a 12.5% Shift Disturbance Allowance and a Location Allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Job Summary
Working within the CTPHQ command within the Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU) Triaging intelligence and information received from stakeholders and partners – assessing for risk and duty of care. Responsible for the exchange of information and intelligence via the NCIA/NSN system. Providing liaison between CT regions and CT seniors particularly during national CT incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
The post holder will be required to do the following:
- Operate within the National Common Intelligence Application (NCIA) training course will be provided
- To monitor mailboxes, receive and triage national documents on behalf of all national units - acting as a conduit in facilitating the flow of intelligence and information
- Work flow and publish JTAC & MI5 material (NCIA training courses will be provided)
- Triage intelligence received from stakeholders and partners – assessing for risk and duty of care.
- Publish/Transfer documents on behalf of CTPNOC national units to support operational policing
- Monitoring the four computer system’s mailboxes – observing relevant priorities
- Liaising with other Counter Terrorism units on behalf of the Coordination Centre – particularly during CT incidents
- Processing requests for information (RFI’s)
- Occasional administrative support to National Units via the National Units Practitioners Group (NUPG)
- Ad hoc duties to support the Local Ops SLT as requested
- Undertake other tasks as directed by the Intelligence Manager
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with FIMUs and OIMUs in other forces, partners (MI5) and agencies
- Support and assist in the identification of documents on NCIA relevant for Review, Retention, Disposal (RRD)
- Liaise with National Data Management Centre (NDMC) and the national ICAM officer in respect of RRD.
Vetting
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.
Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties. For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
