Applications are invited for the position of SCD Intelligence Support Officer within the Intelligence Bureau at Chelmsford Police Station, Essex or North Kent. 

 

This is a multi-skilled role with a strong emphasis on identifying threat, harm, risk from Intelligence and on identifying opportunities for positive policing action.

 

The work carried out by the Intelligence Bureau can either be dynamic in response to an on-going incident or more in-depth, supporting Officers with Intelligence scopes and the quality assurance, linking researching of reports on Athena.

Good IT Skills are desirable, as the role requires the use of various IT applications.

 

The full-time post holder will be required to work a shift pattern Monday to Friday between 0730-1800 and some weekends on a 1 in 7 rota basis.

Smarter Working for Kent:

The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including the potential to work from home for those who would like to. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend a designated ‘Team Zone’ location on average one or two days a week, as agreed with the line manager. Currently the designated Team Zone for this role is located at North Kent. 

 

Agile Working for Essex: Home based Agile Worker - Works predominately (80% or more) at home only working in the office when required to do so. The role will offer flexibility in terms of place of work, including some home working. The extent of flexibility will be agreed through individual assessment with the line manager to assess operational requirements and individual’s suitability for home working. In the event that home working is agreed for the successful candidate, there will be a requirement to regularly attend the contractual workplace. 

 

Essex Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £29,874.00.

Kent Police and Essex Police have separate salary grading systems therefore the salary for this position will be dependent on which home office force you are appointed to. This will be discussed with the successful applicant before a final offer is made.
