Senior Management Accountant

Based at Culham, Oxfordshire (hybrid working)

Salary up to £44,618 plus a £2,000 South East Allowance and a generous benefits package

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. Given the critical nature of our work, it’s vital that we recruit skilled and committed professionals, and we're now looking for a Senior Management Accountant to be part of our growing Finance team.

Our Senior Management Accountant (SMA) will coordinate our financial performance, providing strategic and operational financial analysis and modelling. You’ll coordinate the provision of a full Financial Management service, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and management accounts whilst building and maintaining constructive relationships with collaborators.

You’ll use a range of forecasting and review techniques to maintain financial control and project accurately, monitoring financial plans and leading the team to investigate variances from budgets. In alternation with other SMA’s you’ll take ownership of sales invoicing, apprenticeship levy reconciliations and consolidation of financial information for monthly and annual accounts, budgets, and forecasts. Our Finance team work as one – you’ll get involved with other team members to support with budgeting and forecasting, supporting audit activities and ensuring financial controls are maintained.

To join our collaborative team, you’ll need to be either Fully, or Part-Qualified and actively studying, with a recognised accountancy body (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) backed up with experience in an accountancy environment, ideally with some public sector experience. You will be a highly proficient user of Enterprise Resource systems and MS Office; with advanced Excel skills to maintain, develop, and build financial models – so you’ll also need outstanding numeracy, technical and analytical skills. You’ll be an excellent communicator – leading interactions with internal and external stakeholders and be a pro-active, results oriented team manager.
