Hours:  37 Hours per week (Full-Time)

Contract: Permanent

Humberside Police are looking for an Accounts Payable / Receivable Officer to assist in the management and delivery of an effective, comprehensive accounts payable and receivable function to realise the strategic direction set by finance SLT.

The role holder will ensure the effective and efficient running of the accounts payable / receivable function, making sure deadlines are met in a timely manner as well as issuing workloads to the Accounts Payable / Receivable Administrators, enhancing their skills and experience through the effective training and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the effective and efficient running of the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions.
  • Managing the Accounts Payable and Receivable team to ensure all invoice processing deadlines are met and in accordance with agreed schedules taking remedial action to resolve problems which arise.
  • The provision of specialist advice and support regarding Accounts Payable and Receivable, systems and projects to all relevant personnel, ensuring clarity, accuracy and consistency of information.
  • Oversees, coordinates and promotes the implementation of all Accounts Payable and Receivable policies across the Force ensuring that all managers and supervisors are fully aware of their responsibilities and are conforming to such policies.
  • Ensures all supplier invoices are captured and processed correctly in a timely manner.
  • Managing the Accounts Receivable team to ensure that all income received is identified and matched to debts where applicable.

What the role requires:

  • Educated to a Level 4 standard or equivalent or has equivalent experience within a similar role.
  • Significant experience working within a financial function.
  • Experience of supervising staff.
  • Report writing, analysis and extrapolation of data.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads of self and team in order deadlines.
  • Making accurate decisions without direct regular supervision.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse problems objectively leading to resolution at both an individual and organisational level without supervision.
