Assistant Business Partner- Talent
As an Assistant Business Partner in the Talent Acquisition Team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and aligning our recruitment strategies with our business objectives.
You will collaborate closely with senior leaders to gain insights into staffing needs, develop strategic recruitment plans, and ensure a seamless candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
Working alongside other Assistant Business Partners in Talent, you will review team resources regularly to ensure effective work prioritisation across the department.

This role demands a proactive approach, strong interpersonal skills, and a solid understanding of the police promotion process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the police officer promotion board process.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for our Special Constabulary.
- Responsible for the constabulary elements of the Fast Track process.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure fit for purpose recruitment/promotion processes.
- Deliver briefings and presentations to both shortlisting and interview panels.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments to support workforce planning and talent management initiatives.
- Review and analyse data to support decision making and to evaluate campaigns.
Skills, experience and knowledge:
- Experience and/or knowledge of recruitment best practice.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Experience of building strong relationships across a broad range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to plan and implement new ways of working and the development and implementation of processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Experience of planning and managing projects or recruitment campaigns.
- Experience of championing and creating processes that embrace diversity, and inclusion.
- A proven track record of successfully recruiting for a variety of roles and at all levels would be advantageous.
- A good understanding of sourcing techniques and tools, including social media would be advantageous.
Additional information:
- The role is based at Police Headquarters working alongside your team. You will also have the opportunity to work from home for a proportion of your working week.
- You will be expected to travel within the force area to meet stakeholders and to support promotion boards, interviews and events.
- The role will necessitate working outside of regular hours (including evenings and Saturday's) and at different locations around the Avon and Somerset area.
- Interviews will take place the week of 21st July 2025.
