We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Payroll, Pensions and Payments Senior in our Payroll, Pensions and Payments team. Could you be who we are looking for?

 About the team/Department you will be joining:

You will be joining a dynamic team within Corporate Finance, with responsibility for delivering all aspects of the following functions:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Payroll
  • Pensions

Hybrid working arrangements are currently in place within the team, with 1 to 2 days a week based in South Wales Police Headquarters, Bridgend and the rest of the week, working from home. Additional office-based days may be required throughout the probationary period for training purposes.

The full-time working hours are 37 per week. We operate a flexible working policy with consideration given to business needs, customer service and deadline related tasks when planning our working week.  

 About the role and your key responsibilities:

You will work alongside other Senior team members in supporting the delivery of the operational aspects of Accounts Payable, Payroll and Pensions whilst ensuring compliance with legislation, policy and procedure.  

As a senior team member reporting to the Payments Manager, your key role will be the responsibility of the Accounts Payable function within the department. You will also have shared responsibility of the allocation of workload and quality assurance checking where required across all three function areas.

Mentoring and development of the team administrators is also a key part of the role and you will work with other team members on identifying ways to improve and streamline processes and support change implementation.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

It is essential that you have experience of working in an Accounts Payable, Payroll and/or Pensions department and have knowledge of payroll and pensions legislation. Experience of producing, validating and sending of a weekly creditors payment run is also key to the role.  

As analysis and reconciliation of data is key to the role, it is also essential that you have an eye for detail and possess advanced Microsoft excel skills.

Must have experience of managing or mentoring others and working as part of a busy team with tight deadlines and a varied workload.

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
