About the team/Department you will be joining:

 

  • DBS are a team of approximately 20 staff based in the Information Management Department within HQ, Bridgend.
  • We work 9-5 Monday-Friday, we work either from HQ, Bridgend or from home.
  • The Disclosure and Barring service (DBS) are responsible for researching DBS applications from members of the public who wish to work/volunteer or to have regular contact with children and vulnerable adults. The department is dedicated to protecting children and/or vulnerable adults.

About the role and your key responsibilities:

 

  • The role entails the organisation, supervision, training and development of staff within the Disclosure and Barring Unit (DBU), providing tactical and operational guidance across a range of processes.  
  • This post will incorporate personnel management and customer service, in addition to providing leadership and guidance in respect of the functions undertaken across the business area.
  • The Team Leader will adhere to legislative and procedural requirements as well as monitor and quality assure staff submissions with focus being placed within the Safeguarding guidelines of South Wales Police and Disclosure and Barring Services.

 

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

 

  • We are looking for a well organised person who can evidence previous experience of staff supervision with good leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral are essential to the role to deal with both internal and external customers.
  • We are keen to hear from you if you are highly competent with Microsoft systems and have previous administrative experience.

This role is suitable for part time/job share workers 

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
