Business Support Assistant - Herts
Applications are invited for a Business Support Assistant to join Joint Protective Services (JPS) in delivering essential strategic and administrative support to Scientific Services. The post holder will work as part of a team within the Fingerprint Unit based at Hertfordshire Headquarters, Welwyn Garden City reporting to the Bureau Team Leader. This is a full-time post for an individual looking to develop their career and work within a fast paced and evolving area of business.
The successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel across Beds, Cambs and Herts but the permanent base location will be Welwyn Garden City, Herts. The post holder will be required to undertake a range of responsibilities, including (but not limited to):
Maintain accurate and systematic records to ensure information is easily accessible.
Provide support to the Fingerprint Bureau, collating figures and statistics as requested.
Provide evidential management of submissions.
Update the evidential tracking system.
Maintain bureau collections.
Process orders, liaising with suppliers.
Take fingerprints.
Provide administrative support to the Fingerprint Bureau, Team Leaders and Managers.
As such the successful candidate will have the desired qualities:
Experience in the use of IT and a good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Experience of working in an administrative role.
Experience of operating a range of office equipment
Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service.
Knowledge of ISO17025
