Senior Victims First Officer

Do you have experience in working with children and young people? 

As a Senior Victims First Officer you will respond and assess the needs of children and young victims affected by crime by providing initial telephone advice and support, and making referrals into specialist services and other agencies when required.

You will be working in a fast paced environment, responding appropriately to victim’s needs and managing safeguarding issues that may arise. You will provide mentoring support to other Victims First Officers.

The successful candidates will have experience of communicating with a wide range of people including knowledge of effective communication practices and techniques and demonstrating an aptitude and ability to accurately use relevant computer systems.  Good time management and organisational skills are required with the ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise a demanding workload whilst adhering to deadlines and demonstrating a high degree of accuracy.  The capability to work as part of a team to problem solve and make decisions is essential together with being able to develop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.  The ability to take personal responsibility and show resilience when dealing with conflict and vulnerable/distressed callers is essential.  An awareness and understanding of safeguarding principles is required along with the ability to act in a confidential manner with sensitive information whilst being aware of complying with Data Protection and its implications.
