PIP2 Investigator (Secondment/Fixed Term Contract)

Secondment/Fixed Term Contract until 27 June 2026

This is an exciting opportunity for a PIP 2 Investigator to join Major Crime Headquarters to help solve the most serious crime of murder, serious sexual offences and crimes in action.

Applications are sought from qualified PIP2 investigators looking to develop themselves and work in the investigation of the most serious offences. Successful applicants will be working in Major Crime incident rooms taking a pivotal role in the investigation of homicide offences, whilst having the opportunity to develop themselves as investigators and specialise in interviewing witnesses, suspects and supporting the families of victims. Capability to travel across the Force is required in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly.  Due to unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working public transport may not be suitable.  For this reason a full driving licence is considered essential for this role.

The full time shift pattern is attached.

Candidates must have the PIP2 accreditation or equivalent investigative experience to apply for this role.

The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced vetting and psychological screening due to the nature of the role.
