Have you ever considered working as a Police Community Support Officer? If so, we have some exciting opportunities available working in Ipswich.

Suffolk Constabulary is looking for Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to join the Ipswich Central Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) as part of an exciting partnership with Ipswich Borough Council.

These new roles will provide additional dedicated visibility, deterrence and community engagement within the heart of Ipswich, working closely with the local SNT.

PCSOs contribute to a problem solving approach to tackling issues in neighbourhoods, by focusing on reducing crime and disorder in public places and helping to manage demand on policing services, as well as being accessible to communities and working with partner agencies.

The successful applicant will be able to work in diverse communities, be a good communicator and be able to make difficult decisions under pressure and remain calm in confrontational situations.

You must be physically fit and in order to undertake the training and be able to perform extended foot/cycle patrol duties, often on your own, in all weather. This is to be able to provide public reassurance through high visibility patrols.
