Volunteer - Cadet Scheme Leader (Bracknell)
Bracknell and Wokingham Cadet Unit are seeking volunteers to assist with our weekly cadet session.
Bracknell and Wokingham sessions are weekly, however Leaders are asked to provide availability for a school term at a time.
Sessions are run at a local school, and sometimes at Bracknell Police Station, on occasion there is a likelihood that a session will be ran at another location.
Alongside sessions the Cadets take part in local events and as such the role is also a forward facing role with the Police in which you will support the Cadets as they undertake community engagement and provide the communities of Bracknell & Wokingham LPA crime prevention advice.
The cadets are aged between 13 and 18 years old so we are looking for people who enjoy working with teenagers and can bring fun and engagement to sessions. It is a really diverse and fun group of cadets.
Internal Volunteers can claim TOIL for this extra responsibility or dependent on department and shifts can be in work time.

As a volunteer within the police service, you will be subjected to a level of police vetting. The level will be dependent upon the role and it’s access requirements. With the higher levels of vetting, applicants could be asked to provide details of family members, partner, partner’s parents and co-residents, as well as additional information regarding their own personal circumstances. This process is required to ensure that Thames Valley Police comply with the legislation of the Vetting Code of Practice.
Whilst we endeavour to complete all vetting within 30 working days of receipt of vetting forms, unfortunately this is not always the case due to operational demand and back-logs, and could take considerably longer.
