Front Counter Station Assistant
This is an outstanding opportunity to join the team at North Wales Police as a Part Time Job-Share Station Assistant, 1 role based in Mold.
What does the Station Assistant role entail?
As the Station Assistant, you’ll maintain an effective Reception Service and Enquiry Counter, dealing with general enquiries from the public, made personally by telephone or Email, whilst maintaining secure control of entry to and exit from the building.
Other duties will include, but not be limited to;
- Dealing with general enquiries from members of the public, including obtaining initial details from persons wishing to report an incident/crime/Road Traffic Collision (RTC), both at the counter or via the telephone & Email.
- To examine, record and register driving documents presented with Home Office Road Traffic Form.
- Taking details of found property and recording onto the relevant database, ensuring the security of the property and tracing/returning property to owner/finder as relevant.
- Processing and authorising the release of seized vehicles, checking Insurance & Driving Documents and liaising with the Insurance Bureau & Recovery Garages.
- Inputting data and messages on the relevant systems, including when required, extracting data to carry out Police National Computer checks.
- Recording details of persons reporting to the Police Station on both Police & Immigration bail and maintain the bail register.
- Ensuring that the building is secure during entry and exit of visitors and staff.
North Wales Police are a bilingual organisation and for this role, you’ll need to demonstrate Level 4 Spoken Welsh skills, which means you are able to understand and deal with people in everyday spoken Welsh in most situations but you may turn to English when dealing with complex situations or terminology.
