A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within Tarian, the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU) for southern Wales.  We are seeking to recruit a Data Insight Analyst on a permanent contract, working predominantly within Cryptocurrency, Cybercrime and Dark Web investigations.

Tarian investigate and disrupt serious and organised crime operating across police force boundaries. Tarian capabilities include undercover policing, specialist surveillance, cyber-crime investigation, and economic crime investigation. Additionally, we act as an important point of connection between police forces and the National Crime Agency (NCA). The post will primarily be based within the Regional Cyber Crime Unit.

Tarian ROCU – Regional Organised Crime Unit

The Data Insight Analyst role offers a unique opportunity. In this role you can use your skillsets to improve our use of data in the fight against serious and organised crime. Helping protect the most vulnerable from exploitation and harm. You will be joining a team of police officers and police staff, working together to target criminals and bring them to justice.

You will be seeking to optimise the use of data analytics, bringing together large data sets, and promoting the automation of processes. You will create auditable data products with clear provenance for use by Intelligence Analysts and investigator, as well as developing automated tools which replicate the most time-consuming manual processes, commonly used within intelligence gathering.

We are seeking candidates with experience in the data analysis field, experience of technical platforms such as SQL, O365 and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, and VBA/Excel), and visualisation tools, such as Power BI. DevOps experience would also be beneficial. We recognise that the knowledge and skills we are seeking are often ‘self-taught’ and for that reason we are not asking for formal qualifications.

Please note that whilst there will be a requirement to attend the office there is flexibility within the role for some remote working/working from home in line with current policies.
