CST Researcher (CENTRAL SAFEGUARDING TEAM)
We are welcoming applications for the role of CST Researcher (CENTRAL SAFEGUARDING TEAM) with Devon & Cornwall Police based at the following location(s): Hawkins House, Exeter, Launceston
Salary: Grade 4 - Starts at £26,106 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £28,653 per annum
Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon and Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same grade.
Type of employment: Permanent
To research police intelligence and information systems, to enable multi-agency decision making and response, where concerns about the welfare of children and vulnerable adults have been identified.
This research function will enable timely and appropriate safeguarding interventions, maximising the opportunities for reducing the incidence of abuse to children and vulnerable people; an area of work which is subject to continual public and professional scrutiny.
To be responsible for safeguarding disclosures as described below, considering the lawfulness of the request and content of information to be shared deciding: whether to disclose; what to disclose; and who to disclose to. Taking responsibility for this function including risk assessment of an individual case and recording decisions and rationale.

Selection Stage:
The selection for this role will consist of Shortlisting, Interview.
Applications will be anonymised and then shortlisted by the shortlisting panel. Following the shortlisting you will be notified of the recruitment decision via email along with feedback on your application.
If successful, you will then be invited to an interview. This will be based on the behaviours outlined within the role profile. The interview process is due to take place week commencing 17 December 2024.

Pre-requisites:
If you are successful through the selection stage of the recruitment process, we will make a conditional offer of appointment and commence pre-requisite checks. These checks can include:
