Committee Services Officer

Police Scotland's purpose is to improve the safety and wellbeing of people, places and communities.

We are now looking for a Committee Services Officer to be part of the team working in the Corporate Services Division, where you can make a real difference to our officers and staff across the second largest police force in the UK.

The role will be part of a small team based within the Strategic Centre of Police Scotland who provide specialist advice and a proactive service to the organisation supporting the governance model and decision-making process.

Key responsibilities of the role include –

  • Professionally driving and delivering governance on behalf of the Executive to ensure a structured and corporate approach
  • Supporting scrutiny and decision-making arrangements through the coordination of our strategic internal and external boards and committees.
  • To provide guidance on committee processes and procedures and support to Executive Officers and others to allow them to carry out their roles effectively.
  • To communicate the decisions of Boards / Committees in order that appropriate action is taken.
  • Maintain a database of all Committee decisions / actions in accordance with agreed timescales, including cyclical progress reports to all board members
  • To act independently to deliver on any projects agreed by the Force Executive as require
  • To provide a comprehensive professional administrative service to Police Scotland supporting the decision-making process by ensuring a consistent
  • Structured and professional approach to all paper submissions, minute taking, correspondence and associated governance in terms of strategic internal/external boards and committees.

This is a part time role offering 30 hours per week – this role also offers Hybrid working.

The role is on a fixed-term contract for 12 months however, there may be a possibility of this being extended.
