Technical Support Co-Ordinator

Core Purpose of the Role:
Providing technical support and development for the IT Directorate and the organisation. We're looking for candidates who have a genuine interest in technology, some hands-on technical experience and a strong enthusiasm for helping others. Good customer service skills and a positive, proactive approach are just as important as technical ability, as you'll be working with our end users to solve problems and improve their experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical advice and guidance to end users of equipment, ensuring they have the support they need to effectively utilise our products.
- Manage assets efficiently, maintain accurate records, and ensure optimal levels of stock and equipment are upheld.
- Liaise with third-party suppliers and service providers to ensure seamless operations and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Ensure the efficient management of system data and relevant technical applications, operating to agreed performance standards, governance, and ITIL practices.
- Conduct service monitoring, proactive prevention, and associated maintenance, including equipment monitoring, fault diagnosis, and resolution.
- Provide technical knowledge to a range of support and development services, including system administration, database interrogation, and documentation production.
- Emergency Communications: Prepare and maintain emergency communications facilities and systems to sustain business continuity.
- Coordinate with policing teams and resources for pre-planned and spontaneous events, ensuring equipment and staff availability.
Skills and experience required:
- Proven experience in providing technical advice and guidance to end-users, ensuring effective and safe use of equipment.
- Strong ability to manage assets, maintain accurate records, and monitor stock and equipment levels to support operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated capability in coordinating with third-party suppliers and service providers to ensure timely delivery of services, maintenance, and support.
- Relevant technologies – building/maintaining laptops, desktops, mobile devices, break/fix.
- Deploying Windows and M365 based hardware and associated technologies.
- Providing assistance to projects and large deployments.
- Providing technical subject matter expertise and managing resolution of complex issues
