Procurement Officer

Due to substantial investment in our Procurement Service and vacancies becoming available due to internal promotion, we have a new Procurement Officer vacancy in the Digital procurement category.  This category supports all procurement activity for ICT,  including specialist areas for Specialist Crime Division and Forensic Services.  This category supports significant capital initiatives year on year following investment for new systems, technology, and equipment, along with continued business as usual contract renewals and upgrades of systems and applications.

 

The preferred candidates should have knowledge and experience of delivering procurement projects in the ICT and Digital space and preferably within the Public Sector, with sound knowledge of UK legislative requirements and the Scottish Government codes of practice, guidelines, and industry best practice.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced procurement professionals to join a thriving and expanding procurement team who recently won the GO Awards Scotland Procurement Team of the Year award following a period of improvement and reorganisation. The reorganised Police Scotland procurement team provides excellent opportunities for personal development and career progression within the team. To support the Category Manager’s with efficient and effective provision of procurement services, developing specifications, arranging, and managing contracts in line with overall organisational goals and compliant with relevant legislation and directives.

You will work 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:00 and will require Standard Recruitment Vetting.
