Administration Assistant Camera Safety Unit

This is an outstanding opportunity to join North Wales Police as an Administration Assistant within the Camera Safety Unit. 

In the role of Administration Assistant, you’ll put your excellent typing skills to use along with your high levels of accuracy, as you undertake all computer and administrative duties involved in the processing of offences detected by the Wales Road Casualty Reduction Partnership – Go Safe. 

What does the Camera Safety Unit Administration Assistant role entail?

Duties of the role, include but aren’t limited to;

  • Providing administration for the Speed Awareness Scheme and any other schemes offered to drivers by NWP as an alternative to a Fixed Penalty.
  • Logging and processing file discs for verification of offences.
  • Managing the production and mailing of: -
  • Notices of Intended Prosecution/S.172 Notices
  • Conditional Offers
  • Reminder letters
  • Speed Awareness offer letters
  • Speed Awareness completion letters
  • Maintaining the filing and bring forward systems and archiving of documents.
  • Managing the telephone enquiries, advice callers and update and minute system.

What will I need to be considered for the Camera Safety Unit Administration Assistant role?

  • NVQ3 or equivalent qualification in Administration and / or proven relevant experience in systems administration work.
  • The use of Information Technology to an intermediate level that includes inputting/typing skills to at least 35wpm
  • Clerical / Administrative experience to include filing, indexing photocopying and typing.
  • Proven communication skills, commensurate with the requirements of the role.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently using own initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines, responding positively under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • While performing the duties of this job the post holder is regularly required to carry out Manual handling activities which would include:- bending, lifting, moving and carrying heavy objects.

Welsh

North Wales Police are a bilingual organisation and for this role, you’ll need to demonstrate Level 3 Spoken Welsh skills, which means you’re able to converse partly in Welsh, but turn to English in discussion and to give detailed information.
