Forensic Laboratory Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as a Forensic Laboratory Technician in Forensic Services.  

What you will be doing? 

To examine items submitted from scenes of crime to recover trace evidence, DNA, footwear and fingerprint marks, using Fingerprint Development Unit and DNA Clean room facilities and equipment.

  • To assess items received, determine and conduct the most suitable processes to recover trace evidence, DNA, footwear and fingerprint marks in compliance with the ISO17025 Quality Standard, Forensic Science Regulator Codes of Practice and Conduct, Standard Operating Procedures and DSTL Fingerprint Visualisation Manual.
  • To examine items for developed marks, label, document and photograph all footwear and fingerprint marks developed
