Salary: Scale 6-SO1 £32,247 - £37,692

Role Profile

Our Support Service functions work in collaboration across North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, providing vital shared expertise to deliver efficient and effective service to our communities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our Niche & Records Team within the Information Management Department. As a Niche Systems Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the operational effectiveness of North Yorkshire Police through the maintenance and enhancement of our core recording system, Niche RMS.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting and develop the Niche Records Management System to meet operational and strategic requirements
  • Delivering high quality customer service to users across the force.
  • Playing a key role in the testing and implementation of system and business changes.
  • Work independently and proactively to identify and resolve system issues
  • Collaborate with a multi-skilled team to improve system performance and user experience.

 

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for detail-oriented applicants who combine technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Niche RMS is advantageous.
  • Testing Experience: Confidence in planning, managing, and executing system tests.
  • Initiative & Independence: A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication with stakeholders and users.
  • Attention to Detail: Careful handling of sensitive information and precision in system management.
  • Organisational Ability: Skilled in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Data Competency: Experience with data extraction, queries, or report development is a plus.

  • You must have the right to work in the UK, with no restrictions on your employment
  • Hold a full UK manual driving licence
  • Internal applicants must have successfully completed their probation period
  • Meet residency requirements for vetting:
                            MV Level Vetting – minimum 5 years UK residency
