Criminal Researcher
The world of intelligence is a stimulating and ever evolving environment covering crime themes such as Modern Slavery, Child Sexual Exploitation, Organised Crime, Threats to the Force and the pursuit of Fugitives to name a few. The Force Intelligence Bureau is a rewarding and fulfilling department to work in.
Applications are invited for the role of Criminal Researcher to work in the Force Intelligence Bureau on the Child Sexual Exploitation desk. As a Researcher you will collate and disseminate intelligence in support of operations and emerging threats, identify crime pattern trends and create offender profiles. You will also support local police areas, Headquarters Departments including Major Crime and the Serious Organised Crime Unit, and other law enforcement agencies.
A good standard of education including excellent numeric and literacy skills or substantial role related experience is essential. You will be IT literate with the ability to assimilate and use new packages as technology develops, and a passion for Open Source Research. Working as an integral part of a team, you will be required to display the highest standards of integrity with the ability to communicate at all levels. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, with the ability to use their own initiative and be able to work with minimum supervision.
No previous experience of working in intelligence is required although attention to detail is a must; this is an exciting opportunity for an inquisitive mind.
Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.
