Our Support Service functions work in collaboration across North Yorkshire Police and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, providing vital shared expertise to deliver efficient and effective service to our communities. The Opportunity
We’re looking for curious and passionate HR professionals to join our People Services team on a permanent basis, to fill immediate and future vacancies as part of our 12-month Talent Bank.
This role provides specialist, credible, and timely advice on a wide range of people management matters to support informed decision-making by line managers. Areas include (but are not limited to): terms and conditions, sickness absence, discipline, grievance, pensions, and performance. Our aim is to deliver resolution first time through people-centred approaches.
You’ll contribute to the development, maintenance, and management of frameworks, procedures, and policies - ensuring appropriate consultation, legal compliance, and proactive support through up-to-date knowledge of legislation and case law.
You’ll also apply feedback and experience to continuously improve our processes and enhance capability across the employee lifecycle.
Working closely with Business Partner colleagues, you’ll provide regular people-related insight and analysis to help target support and prioritise activities for business leaders.
Using people MI, KPIs, and service level agreements, you’ll help deliver a purposeful and empowering customer experience, proactively identifying priorities and opportunities to improve our service.
What We’re Looking For
- Be CIPD qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience
- Have strong stakeholder management skills and experience delivering high-quality people advisory services
- Possess sound knowledge of employee relations, UK legislation, and case law, with the ability to assess risks and benefits
- Bring excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and HR/IT systems
