Firearms and Explosives Enquiry Officer
Play a part in ensuring the safe use of firearms across Derbyshire.
As Firearms and Explosives Enquiry Officer, you will deliver an efficient licensing service that is rigorous, fair and timely. Using your excellent communication skills, you will visit applicants in their homes and advise on security arrangements and legislation.
Please note, this role covers South-West Derbyshire, where you will be required to travel regularly.
What you’ll be doing
- Undertake enquiries in relation to the grant, variation and renewal of certificates.
- Examine weapons and ammunition held by applicants.
- Undertake land suitability surveys.
The must haves
- Recent experience of the Criminal Justice system.
- A working knowledge of the Firearms Acts.
- Ability and experience in the safe handling of firearms.
