Intelligence Research Officer

Come and help our investigations by providing intelligence research. 

We have a full-time permanent opportunity to join the Crime Support team as an Intelligence Research Officer working 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

You will be a part of the Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) based at our Force Headquarters, Ripley. The primary role is to provide an intelligence function for the force. The team deals with level 1, 2 and 3 intelligence which is evaluated, assessed and linked into the force Intelligence system.

What you’ll be doing

  • You will be required to assess and effectively deal with all intelligence related enquiries received in force, which involves researching, developing, sharing and disseminating.
  • You will be responsible for carrying out relevant intelligence research; ensuring that notifications of prison recalls, persons unlawfully at large and breach of tag are appropriately allocated within the force.
  • No day will be the same, so you’ll need to have a flexible approach to work, good organisational skills and willingness to respond to the changing needs of the FIB.

The must haves

  • Experience of producing written correspondence to a high standard.
  • Good IT Skills and Microsoft experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Experience in researching a variety of databases, gathering, analysing, and managing data.
