Firearms Licensing Administrator

Play a vital role in responsible firearms licensing with Leicestershire Police.

The Local Policing Department is seeking to hire a full-time, temporary Firearms Licensing Administrator, based at Mansfield House on a 12 month fixed term basis.  In the role, you will have clerical and administrative responsibility for all aspects of the licensing of firearms, shotguns and explosives and associated activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process applicants for the grant and renewal of firearm, shotgun and explosives certificates.
  • Respond to enquiries by telephone, email and in person from Police Officers, Staff and members of the public.
  • Issue certificates and permits, maintaining records as appropriate.

The must haves

  • GCSE grade C/4 (minimum) in English Language, or have equivalent experience working to this level.
  • Experience in an administrative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, providing high-quality service to customers.

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
