Job Title: Performance Analyst

Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.

The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652.  Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Location: Hendon, Sidcup

 

Learning & Development (L&D) Performance & Assurance team is a new function within the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) that has been created to deliver analytical support to enable the organisation to manage its L&D performance. Through the New Met for London plan the team will look to deliver data-driven decision making to enable more trust, less crime and high standards. This means treating our data in the same way we treat our people, methods and technology, as a strategic asset.  

A key part of L&D Strategy & Performance pillar will be the Performance & Assurance team, and we’re currently looking for Senior Reporting Analysts to drive and maintain reporting services that enable data-driven decision-making and compliance. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish best practices, supporting users with training, and enhancing data capability across the Met. The ideal candidate will be analytically minded with demonstrable recent experience. 

Key Role Responsibilities: 

You’ll have a number of core duties relating to L&D reporting. These include: 

  • Leading the design and build of visually compelling dashboards and reports to drive business insights 
  • Gathering reporting requirements and defining the KPIs, measures and metrics for reporting solutions, and storing this critical data centrally   
  • Analysing data within reports to provide pertinent insights that inform stakeholders’ strategic decision-making   
  • Leading all reporting and dashboard testing and ensuring a high level of quality assurance is met before reports and dashboards are published   
  • Owning the creation of the technical documentation required to support the team

You should possess the following knowledge, experience and skills: 

  • Well-developed functional reporting experience within Finance and/or L&D operational functions 
  • Practical knowledge of core end-to-end shared services and data sets covering Commercial, Finance and/or L&D 
  • Plenty of experience in building reports and analytics using tools such as Fabric, PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, and using statistical analysis methodologies such as clustering and regression 
  • Experience of team management and the provision of clear direction, support and resolution 
  • Knowledge of implementing best in practice reporting and analytics dashboards 
  • Knowledge of developing and improving data and reporting standards, processes and governance 
  • Knowledge of operating Oracle ERP platforms and Oracle Analytics Cloud solutions  

You may in addition be required from time to time to undertake additional duties necessary to meet the needs of the Met; such duties to be commensurate with the responsibilities and grading of the post. 

Location and working hours: 

Shifts are Monday-Friday office hours, but there needs to be flexibility to meet the criteria of the role as and when required. The role will be blended working across London. 

This role is considered a non-operational role under the Hybrid Working Policy. The expectation is you will travel into the office 3 times per week.  

L&D supports flexible working, but this will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Posting Information: 

This will be a full- time role in L&D Performance & Assurance. For existing MPS officers and staff, postings will take place in line with the next corporate posting schedule once the selection process is complete.  

Successful candidates will be expected to remain in this role for 2 years before applying for any other internal roles. 

Criteria in Assessment 

Paper Sift will be conducted on the documents provided by the applicant (CV) 

Successful candidates will be invited for an interview. This will be a panel-based interview with competency-based questions. 

The interview will be assessed against the Met Competence Value Framework (CVF) for Band C Level 3 competences.
