Intelligence Development Officer (12 month Fixed Term Contract) (CTPSE)
Our Research and Analysis Team produces high quality research and analytical products to support all areas of CTPSE business. We are closely aligned to the Intelligence Management Function (IMF), the South East Regional Prison Intelligence Team (SERPIT) and CT Borders Policing (CTBP) however full research and analytical support is given to all 4 of the strands of Contest across CTPSE.
This IDO role will be aligned to the South East Regional Prison Intelligence Team (SERPIT) and as such, you will be supporting the identification and disruption of both extremism and organised criminality within the South East prisons estate.
The successful candidate will provide high quality research and development packages. In addition, they will be responsible for collating and assessing information and intelligence from a wide range of sources on identified individuals, organisations and thematics. This is an exciting role which will involve assisting in the preparation and presentation of a variety of intelligence or evidential packages.
Due to the nature of the role, the role holder must be able to travel across the South East Region. For this reason, a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role. The SERPIT IDO position is a Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:00/Fri 08:00-15:30 working pattern. Working hours and arrangements can be discussed at interview.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post.
In line with the requirements of the position, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting level, which requires you to be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years.
This post is restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.
