The Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan sets out three key strategic priorities:
- Communities and Victims First
- Strengthening Partnership Working; and
- Effective and Resilient Policing
To support the Commissioner to meet these priorities we are seeking an experienced Commissioning and Partnerships Officer.
The successful candidate will support one of a small team of Commissioning and Partnerships Managers to lead on a portfolio of commissioned services, including crime prevention and support for victims. The postholder will work as part of a team of Commissioning and Partnerships officers and managers to deliver a large and diverse programme of work on behalf of the Head of Commissioning and Partnerships.
You will work in close partnership with local authority, health and criminal justice partners to enable the design and commissioning of new services, and support contract management to ensure value for money for the public and the achievement of positive outcomes for individuals.
You will be highly organised with experience of facilitating end-to-end commissioning and /or coordinating contract, strategy, or project / programme lifecycles. You will also have strong problem-solving skills, experience of monitoring performance and knowledge and understanding of community safety. You will bring an enthusiastic and creative approach, have excellent communication skills and experience of partnership working.

For OPCC adverts only: Please note that government plans are underway to transfer functions under the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) model to the East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) Mayor in May 2028 as part of reforms introduced by the Police Reform Bill. This is expected to enable better join up with local services across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
Functions delivered by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) will still be required under the new Mayoral model and TUPE (the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006) has applied where such transfers have occurred elsewhere in the country and should therefore apply to staff in the employment of the OPCC in Nottinghamshire at that time.
