About the Role
Cheshire Constabulary is seeking a skilled and dedicated Recovery Technician to join our Vehicle Fleet Services team. This is a vital role supporting operational policing by ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely recovery and transportation of vehicles across the force area. This is a part time position 18.5 hours per week
As a Recovery Technician, you will work in a fast-paced environment, responding to incidents and supporting frontline policing. You will play a key part in maintaining public safety and ensuring vehicles are handled professionally and securely.
Key Responsibilities
• Recover and transport vehicles involved in incidents, seizures, or breakdowns in line with force policies and legal requirements.
• Operate recovery equipment safely and effectively, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
• Complete accurate documentation and maintain records of all recovery activities.
• Carry out basic vehicle checks and assist with fleet movements as required.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Full UK driving licence (including Category C or C+E preferred).
• Experience in vehicle recovery or a similar role.
• Knowledge of vehicle handling and recovery equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to urgent requests.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
• Recovery industry qualifications (e.g., IVR certification).
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicles.
