Safety Camera Police Staff Investigator (PIP/1) - Police Staff

Main Purpose of Role

Families can be torn apart by the consequences of fatal and serious injury road traffic collisions, and it is the aim of the Nottinghamshire Safety Camera Partnership (NSCP) to reduce such collisions and prevent injuries to members of the public who use the roads and footways of Nottinghamshire.  Often, the riskiest drivers are those who continually flout road traffic legislation and who continually try to avoid their liability, and it is these that require action to remove them from our roads, making them safer for our whole community.

The Safety Camera Police Staff Investigator (PIP/1) Role is key in identifying cases where there may be criminal intent to evade liability for offences committed.  This could include investigating single, or multiple connected offences of fraud, perverting the course of justice and other related offences, as well as dealing with serious road traffic offences.

You will work as part of a small team, along with your supervisor to bring offenders to justice.  You will be responsible for investigating offences, including taking witness statements and searching confidential force systems, interviewing suspects, and reporting them for any offences and putting together case files for court.  You may also be required to give evidence for court.

The post requires the post holder to hold PIP/1 accreditation, and we will offer training if you do not hold that accreditation.
