Communications Support Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Thames Valley Police’s Corporate Communications department as a Communications Support Assistant, working within our Operational Communications Team.
What do we do?
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for managing both internal and external communications across a range of operational contexts; including responsive operational support, emergency preparedness, pre-planned operational support and the promotion of operational policing. Our work is incredibly diverse and wide-ranging, with the team playing a crucial role in telling the story of policing from fighting crime to serving victims; ensuring we protect our communities.
The team simultaneously works with a wide variety of stakeholders across the organisation including Response teams, Neighbourhood Teams, Crime and Investigative Teams along with external partners; including the media, partner emergency services, local authorities and community groups.

In this role, you will provide support across a range of internal and external communications and engagement disciplines and channels.

You will work in a fast-paced environment so should enjoy working as part of a team, proactively contributing support and demonstrating flexibility where required. You can expect your working day to be varied, often dealing with the unexpected.
From early on, you will also be expected to work with officers and staff at all levels of the organisation and to liaise with our many partners, so strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence are important.
