Administration Assistant - Police Staff

Main Purpose of Role

Join Our Team and Help Shape the Future of Citizens in Policing!

We’re looking for someone enthusiastic and proactive to join a small but mighty team that supports some of the most exciting programmes in Nottinghamshire Police: from Police Support Volunteers and Volunteer Police Cadets, to School & Early Intervention Officers, the Youth Outreach Team, and our Mini Police scheme.

As part of the Citizens in Policing (CiP) team, you’ll get stuck into a variety of admin tasks, working closely with colleagues across the organisation and with external partners. You’ll help keep our systems up to date, support the smooth running of our programmes, and play a key part in making sure everything we do is delivered to a high standard.

There’s also an expectation that you’ll take on the role of Police Cadet Leader as part of our Cadet Programme. This will require a DBS check and some occasional evening work. You may also get involved in community events, a great chance to get out there, meet people, and make a difference, which sometimes take place on evenings or weekends.

Now for the fun part!
While there’s plenty of important work to do, we want you to know that being an admin assistant with us is far from dull. We love fresh ideas and encourage everyone on the team to contribute, be creative, and help shape the way we work.

We’re passionate about helping you grow too, whether that's building confidence, learning new skills, or taking steps towards your long-term career goals. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences, because diverse perspectives make our team stronger and our programmes richer.

Most of all? We want you to enjoy being part of our team.
Yes, we work hard but we have a lot of fun along the way.

Key Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience working within a team, supporting colleagues, and making a positive contribution.
  • Experience of effective and proven customer service and administration skills in an education setting.
  • Experience of working with various IT systems maintaining accurate records in a programme delivery environment.
  • Understanding of the Data Protection Act and its application.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, taking personal responsibility for prioritising workloads in accordance with agreed deadlines and maintaining a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to produce written documents to a high standard paying meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and present statistical information accurately.
  • Ability to collate and record information from a variety of sources.
