Applications are invited for the post of Scene Investigation Deputy Technical Manager within ,Specialist Operations, Scene Investigations Technical Team based at Hutton HQ.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support on maintaining formal accreditation for the Scene Investigations units, participating in audits and UKAS assessments. Provide support for effective management of quality standards within the units. Have a thorough understanding of Forensic Science Regulator Statutory Code of Practice, international standards and other relevant documents.
  • Support Scene Investigations staff maintain competence and performance standards across all relevant disciplines to ensure the achievement of Departmental, Divisional and Constabulary objectives though effective use of competence frameworks, in support of CSI Supervisors and the FCI Sergeant.
  • Report to the Scene Investigations Technical manager in matters related to accredited activities and quality.

Skills and Experience: 

  • Substantial experience of working within a crime scene investigation, forensic collision investigation or related forensic science field.
  • Experience of working on own initiative, investigating problems, developing solutions and taking appropriate timely action to resolve them.
  • Experience of dealing effectively with a range of both internal and external agencies

Vetting:

Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting (RV) prior to commencing their role.

The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with the attached rota.

Upon successful appointment as per the job specification, you will be required to provide your DNA for elimination purposes, this will be held against the Contamination Elimination Database (CED).
