Introduction

Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.

We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual to fulfil the role of PREVENT Triage Supervisor within the PREVENT capability in CTPNW.

Information about the specific role

To prevent people becoming or supporting terrorists.
To act as the coordinator on prevent related terrorism and extremism investigations.
To supervise the prevent cases held by individual case officers.
To coordinate the production, dissemination and presentation of intelligence packages in line with the National Intelligence Model (NIM).
To supervise and support the identification of opportunities for interventions in line with the aims and objectives of the contest strategy, and in particular the prevent strand of that strategy.
To develop officer team skills to deliver effective intervention recommendations and advice to assist Basic Command Units (BCUs), Communities, Statutory and Voluntary Partners, including Local Authorities and in the production of Counter Terrorism local profiles.
To ensure safe working practices and have risk management and intelligence as integral to any prevent intervention and decision making process.
To support the identification of opportunities for safeguarding and intervention in line with the aims and objectives of the Channel project.
To manage and maintain strategy for prevent engagement across GMP and the NW Region.
