Transferee-PC Forensic Collision Investigator- Shrewsbury or Bromsgrove
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the West Mercia Police team of Forensic Collision Investigators. The role provides the applicant with the opportunity to provide specialist support to the organisation by becoming highly trained and completing detailed investigations of collisions. The work completed provides detailed and key information that informs investigations on the reasons and contributory factors for serious collisions.
Based at either Shrewsbury or Bromsgrove, the applicant will work a shift pattern that does not include nights but rather will be part of an on-call rota. The role includes significant initial and ongoing training and mentoring. The successful applicant would become responsible for conducting investigations at serious collision sites, must be able to work accurately with very keen attention to detail under pressure. The role requires the successful applicant to be resilient; the unit routinely deploys to collisions that include fatalities and very serious injury.
The successful applicant will utilise state-of-the-art equipment alongside their investigative skills in the execution of their duties and will translate their investigations into a detailed comprehensive forensic report. It is imperative that the applicant has or is able to learn advanced mathematical principles in order to succeed in the role.
