Joint Enquiry Investigator
Purpose of the Job:
To contribute to the police role in safeguarding children by representing the force in Section 47 joint investigations, including attendance at multi-agency strategy discussions and joint visits with Children’s Services.
To support the timely progression of safeguarding enquiries and criminal investigations that do not require the use of warranted powers, working collaboratively with Child Abuse Investigation Unit (CAIU) officers, MASH partners and other policing teams.
To act as the police decision-maker in relevant multi-agency forums, ensuring risk is appropriately assessed and actions are taken to safeguard vulnerable children in line with statutory requirements and local procedures.
Provide specialist support and guidance to others.
HOURS OF WORK:
37 hours with variable shifts (shifts envisaged to incorporate 0800-1600 dayshifts and 1100-1900 late shifts however, will be subject to review with the potential for a later finish)
