Salary: The starting salary is £47,060, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £44,132 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £52,652. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: London and Hybrid – 3 days (60%) - : Your base will be New Scotland Yard, but we offer blended, flexible working across London. You’ll work wherever you can deliver best — including Met sites, partner locations and from home, when appropriate

We are currently recruiting for a Business Insights Analyst within our Integrated Design and Delivery (IDD) function, whose mission is to enhance the effectiveness of the Metropolitan Police Service. This role offers a wide variety of opportunities to contribute to making London the safest global city during a period of significant change by advancing the services provided to the public and improving support for our employees.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will join the IDD team, a team within Strategy responsible for translating both current and future strategic priorities into actionable operational capabilities. This includes delivering robust modelling and analysis to support various programmes and senior management, thereby informing investment and business design decisions.
As a Business Insights Analyst, you will serve as a key analytical resource within the Strategy function, providing specialist expertise in modelling and analysis. Your responsibilities will include challenging existing assumptions, shaping and refining problem statements, and developing analytical products that facilitate confident decision-making. Your analyses will contribute to operational effectiveness reviews across the MPS, helping to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and improved performance, as well as assessing the impact of ongoing and future changes. The insights you provide will directly support the Met’s objectives to reduce crime, build public trust, and enhance standards.
This position plays a vital role in strengthening the Met’s operational capability, ensuring strategic alignment, and building resilience against future challenges.
You will excel in situations of ambiguity, bring clarity to complex issues, and confidently use informed assumptions to develop analytical products that support transformational initiatives and high-value business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing technical business data analysis, including demand and resource modelling to inform decisions.
- Creating analytical outputs and visualisations to drive decision-making.
- Offering guidance and support in business analysis, covering oversight, integration, development, scenario planning, research, modelling, and forecasting.
- Ensuring modelling and analysis are integrated across portfolio and enabling functions.
- Defining problem statements and scopes through well-developed statements of work.
- Helping set and implement standards and processes for analysis.
- Collaborating with Strategy colleagues to further directorate goals.
