About the Programme
The Police Constable Entry Programme is a non-degree route into uniformed policing. You’ll begin training at our HQ in Hutton, near Preston, before joining an operational policing team.
Training includes:
- Classroom-based and practical learning.
- Real-world policing duties from early in your career.
You’ll be fully supported every step of the way, applying new skills and knowledge to serve Lancashire’s diverse communities.

Entry Requirements
- Qualifications: 2 A-Levels / Level 3 equivalent and GCSE Maths and English Language (Grade 4/C)
- Full UK Manual Driving License (at time of application)
- Experience Counts: If you’ve worked as a PCSO, Special Constable, Custody Detention Officer, or in our Control Room for 12+ months, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet the academic criteria. (Please note, applicants must be out of their tenure period)

Interviews – 13th April 2026 - 22nd April 2026 (In person at Hutton HQ)
The intake date is the 6th July 2026 when you will commence your training
